Phil CollinsPhill Collins Storms UK Album Charts Yet Again

The UK music favourite has beaten the ‘Manic Street Preachers’ to the peak of the album charts today.

Only a matter of weeks after seeing Phil on TV playing what could only be described as ‘classic soul’ tracks, he has managed to storm in to No4 last week, with the big leap to the coverted No1 spot this Sunday.

The album is a classic compilation of cover’s which were Collin’s favourite tracks and hits from years gone by, strangely enough named ‘Going Back.’ But, what many music critics started to publish last week was a host of negative feelings saying that ‘it wouldn’t work’ as well as the singer had seen his better day’s and should bow out with grace.

Just on it’s own merits and beating the Manic Street Preachers album ‘Postcards From A Young Man’, does this not answer critics by dropping that one lone punch just below the belt, with a close of ‘I told you so’ for good measure?

At the end of the day, Phil Collins is a music industry hero and has still got exactly what he started with over 4 decades ago. Even though there are many new groups, people and voices which are supposedly better, but can you tie a real ‘great’ down?

I don’t think so!
