George Michael Band From Driving And Jailed For 8 Weeks

George MichaelToday, George Michael appeared in court in London on charges of driving a motor vehicle whilst under the influence of drink or drugs.

He arrived today knowing that there was a chance of being jailed for this offence, as he was warned the last time he was prosecuted that he needed to get his drug habit resolved or suffer a jail sentence should anything happen again.

One of the music industries biggest was always guaranteed to draw a crowd, and this was the case with avid fans and the worlds media struggling to find space to get prime viewing as he walked into court.

The 47 year old ex-Wham star pleaded guilty last month after crashing his car into a North London corner shop, and was subsequently arrested for possesion of canabis.

Along with the 8 week sentence imposed by Highbury Corner Magistrates, Michael was find £1250 and baned from driving for 5 years.

The 8 week sentence will be divided into 4 weeks physical prison term, plus another 4 weeks out under licence with a supervision order from the probation service.
