Using Modern Technology to Lift Your State of Mind

Posted by Lynn Proctor on Tuesday, 14 February, 2012

Digital HighBrainwaves and how they affect you

Every state of mind has a particular “signature” attached to it. This is represented by your brainwave patterns (or “frequency”).

For example, if you’re in a state of deep focus, your brainwaves are likely to be in the Alpha frequency range of 8-12Hz. Other specific frequency patterns exist for states such as sleep, creativity, and general happiness.

These frequencies can be measured using powerful scientific tools, such as an EEG machine. (Also known as an electroencephalograph machine.)
The discovery of brainwave entrainment

In the 1830s, scientists discovered that by playing certain frequencies through the ears, the brain “followed” those frequencies. This is a powerful process known as “brainwave entrainment.”

By changing your brainwave frequencies, you could change your state – encouraging focus, creativity, sleep, or mood improvement, for example.

The problem was that the human ear can only hear frequencies of around 20Hz to 20,000Hz – whereas the vast majority of ‘useful’ human brainwave frequencies exist at 0.1Hz to 20Hz.
Recreating brainwave frequencies

That’s when scientists did something really clever. They decided to play one frequency into the left ear (ie, 400Hz), and another into the right ear (ie, 410Hz).

The noises cancelled each other out and recreated the difference inside the brain (ie, 10Hz).

The brain then followed (or entrained) toward this frequency, and brought about the exact state of mind desired – such as deep focus.
Going beyond binaural beats

This was the scientific validation of “binaural beats,” the first true brainwave entrainment method. Originally suggested in the 1830s, it was scientifically verified by EEG machines in the 1950s.

Since then, many other methods of brainwave entrainment have been discovered – including monaural beats, hamonic box X beats, and most powerfully, isochronic tones, typically regarded as the most potent entrainment methods availabl.

The most powerful brainwave entrainment sessions typically incorporate several entrainment techniques into each session, in order to produce the strongest results, as with All Natural High.

Posted by Lynn Proctor on Friday, 25 February, 2011

Helen Mirren at The Oscars 2011As we all know by now, Dame Helen Mirren has already strolled the red carpet at The Oscars Ceremony and walked away with an “Oscar” on more than one occassion, but recently Dame Helen decided to open up the thoughts and tell of which was here favourite.

Mirren, who received the first of her four Oscar nominations back in 1995 for her magnificent performance in The Madness of King George and went on to win the ‘Best Actress’ award just over a decade later for her role in ‘The Queen’ where she played the part of Queen Elizabeth the Queen of England.

One thing that Dame Helen did say to those who were being nominated for this years ‘Oscars’ was that once the ceremony was over, that the ‘afterglow’ quickly wears off.

“You’re in the most amazing…multi-coloured bubble. Then the night after the Oscars, the bubble bursts and you go back to reality,” said the Dame.

Will Stacey Solomon Sing on National Television Awards 2011

Posted by newsanim on Monday, 24 January, 2011

One of the UK’s Queen’s of the stage and TV is coming back again, thanks to the National Television Awards 2011.

Stacey, who rose to fame on the hit TV show “Xfactor” on ITV – was always dressed to impress when she burst her enormous vocal attributes on the xfactor programme. When she got up on stage to sing the Freddie Murcury hit “live forever” she looked magnificent, dressed in a bespoke evening dress which was designed and created by Suzanne Neville.

Following the unique story of this Dagenham girl on TV was accelerated even more only a few months ago, following an appearance on “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!” where she was crowned ‘Queen of The Jungle” by the british public. With the highest recorded votes ever received for one person on the hit TV show, i’m not surprised just how much the british public took this beautiful Essex Girl to their hearts.

So, with nearly 13,000 people who will pack the 02 Arena, and potentially between 7 and 10 million viewers on TV, it looks very much like Stacey will be delighting us with her unique voice and without a doubt, a stunning gown to promote her slender yet tall figure – but who will be the designer for this prestigeous event?

Only time will tell, but you can bet we will find out first – because we are like that!!

Happy Halloween From Google and Scooby Doo

Posted by Jo Salmon on Sunday, 31 October, 2010

Halloween has become one of those yearly festivities for Americans, where they dress up their house, car and themselevs, all for the sake of enjoyment, door knocking and  trick or treating.

Well, this year for Google has been no different to other festive events, with a celebrationary scetch on the search pages of Halloween, Scooby Doo style.

The interactive story was compiled especially for Halloween, and obviously raised a smile on some of the news and media channels – none so more than our guys at Animonita.

This has followed on nicely for Google who also designed a completely interactive Pac -Man game only a few months ago to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic game from the 70′s.

In the past, Google has also designed doodle drawings to celebrate the lives of some of the worlds legends for example: The Flintstones which celebrated 50 years of the childrens favorite cartoon, one of Dizzie Gillespie the Jazz Musician, to mark the worlds most prestigeous’ 93rd birthday and also to mark the monumentus 70th occassion of John Lennons birthday.

Not sure that everyone gets to see these doodles, because you have to be a pretty regular user of the inernet to see some of these fabulous doodles, especially the ones that are animated like the Pac-Man was!

Smallest Ever Crowd For Dom Joly

Posted by Lynn Proctor on Saturday, 16 October, 2010

Places Not To Visit by Dom Joly

Pick A Number Between 1 and 5

– Dom Joly doesn’t quite understand why his latest book release didn’t ‘cut the mustard’ with the public, yet when he hasn’t been on TV for so long, can he not see why people have forgotten about him?

Yes, he did put things straight many years ago with Phone Jacker, where he used the over sized mobile phone and went into quiet places and acted the goat, but that was four of 5 years ago and people just don’t think he is funny any more.

That one obviously hit home today, because Jolly turned up at a book release in Ireland, where the total amount of 4 people came along to get an autographed copy of “The Dark Tourist.”

What did seem to be pretty funny was the fact that Jolies record of four attendee’s actually broke Katie Price’s record, where she only had three people turn up last year to one of her book signings. And if he wan’ts to beat her best record to date, he would probably have to think about releasing a single….. on the other hand, maybe not!

Speaking to some of the visitors to the book store in Ireland, and asking them if they would want a copy of Dom’s lates book, signed by him, didn’t seem to “cut the mustard either” – as out of ten people we spoke to, only two of them knew who he was, to which both had no interest in what he had to say.

Just a little recommendation to Mr Joly would be stick around next time, and just because there wasn’t a huge queue when the doors open – don’t get up and run like a child that just had his sweets taken from him.

X-Factor Contestant Gamu Nhengu Fights To Stay in UK

Posted by Jo Salmon on Thursday, 7 October, 2010

X-Factors' Gamu Nhengu Following days of speculation over the reappearance of some of the X-Factor contestants on the first live show, Gamu Nhengu who was pulled from the final list by Cheryl Cole has been begging Simon Cowell to put her back in the competition so that she could stay in the UK.

Gamu was only here on a visa which was supported from her mother entering the country to practice as a nurse some 8 years ago, and which expired in August 2010. This now means that as things stand, she must now be deported with her mother and two brothers, back to Zimbabwe – her home land.

100′s of supporters, neighbours and friends gathered outside the house today chanting things at Police and other authority officials to let Gamu stay. Although this did make big news and publicicty, the only way she could be graunted an execution of stay was if she continued within the X-Factor competition.

This would mean that Cowell would have to meet Prime Minister David Cameron and UK Border Agency supremo Lin Homer to see if he could swing them into letting her stay. Not an easy task by any means, but obviously William Hill seemed to think he had a chance by opening bets at 5/2 that Cowell would do the honourable thing.

World’s Richest Model Leaves Victoria’s Secret

Posted by Jo Salmon on Friday, 1 October, 2010

Heidi Klum Super Model @ Victoria's Secret 2009 Show

Heidi Klum Parts Company With Victoria’s Secret After 13 Years.

One of, if not the richest model in the industry, Heidi Klum, has today announced that she will not be a spokesperson for the Victoria Secret range after being in the chair for 13 years.

The German born 37 year old ‘Super Model’ has graced our screens and magazines for many years, promoting companies like McDonald’s as well as Volkswagen.

And when we say she is one of the richest models in the world, it was reported in Forbes Magaziine that she earned in the region of $6 million last year and over $3.7 million the year before.

Since the announcement of her departure, Klum has promised never to reveal ‘Victoria’s’ secret, whilst not letting on the exact reason for her sudden shift in direction. Industry insiders are speculating that she was finding things slightly too tight as far as timings were concerned, trying to devote time to family commitments, Victoria’s brand as well as running the ‘Project Runway’ – which will be going into it’s 8th season.

One thing which many probably forget is that she has developed a new range of clothing called Perfect One, which goes on sale this Autumn – with a contract which has been signed by Amazon Marketplace for the exclusive outlet rights.

Tony Curtis Dies Of Heart Failure

Posted by Lynn Proctor on Thursday, 30 September, 2010

Curtis Leaves A Huge Imprint on Thousands of Memories World Wide

Hollywood Legend – Tony Curtis, the once ‘Super Stud’ of television and film, has sadly passed away of heart failure at the ripe age of 85.

The 50′s movie heartthrob who played the leading role in many films, including one of my favourites – Houdini, where he played the front man and magician Harry Houdini, was certified dead from cardiac arrest at his Las Vegas home by Nevada state County Coronors Office on Wednesday 29th September 2010.

Other popular films which Curtis starred in were ‘Some Like it Hot’ – ‘Sweet Smell of Success’ and ‘The Defiant One’s.’ Yet one that always springs into my mind was the 1956 film ‘Trapeze’ where he played the part as a three person act in a circus with great Burt Lancaster, plus the ever gorgeous Gina Lollobrigida.

The image which we have used to the right was a file picture of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, showing off their two stunning daughters Kelly, 2 years and 6 months, and the newly born ‘Jamie Lee Curtis’ at their home in Hollywood, California – which was taken on January 16th 1959.

X Factor Judge Cheryl Cole Up For A Hat Trick

Posted by Simon Grant on Monday, 27 September, 2010

X Factor 2010 Judges HousesLast night saw the way the series was going to pan out, with the split in the divide looking like it would sway in the direction of Cheryl Cole, according to Simon Cowell.

Something which changed last night was the way they prepared the amount of finalists for the judges houses, taking it from the traditional 6 up to 8, then suddenly adding two more just before the close of the programme.

And when Simon was asked about the quality of this years contestants, he said; “In terms of what I’ve seen so far, particularly in that girls category, it should be a stronger year.”

This didn’t come as a shock to most people when Cowell was filmed in the back of his car, claiming the whole thing to be a fix.

Whilst the 2010 series begins to warm the screens of the UK viewers, questions have been banded around to the expectation of 2011, and if it would be happening in the UK?

Cheryl has supposed to have said that if they don’t make another series in the UK next year, there is a strong chance it will put pressure on her career. Why?

Because Cowell is still in negotiations with the American TV people over who will, and will not be judging on the US version for 2011. And with Cole not being one of the popular people in the US, it questions whether this who 2010 ‘potential’ fixing could have been done, just so Cole gets a third in a row, and a nice slide into place on the judges panel.

If the Pakistan cricketers can get away with fixing no balls and extra runs, I’m damned sure that Simon Cowell could manage something of this nature, don’t you?

Lindsay Lohan Released After Only Hours In LA Jail

Posted by Jo Salmon on Saturday, 25 September, 2010

Lindsay Lohan In Jail 2010 – Lindsay Lohan was today released from the LA jail where she was supposed to be spending the next 30 days, only hours after she was taken in, by the Superior Court Judge Elden Fox. Lohan was bailed on this occasion, and a bail bond was posted, which is rumoured to be somewhere in the $300,000 range, according to the Country Sheriff’s Department spokeman.

Much like the last time, Lohan has been ordered to wear an ankle bracelet which is a drug monitoring system to detect anything that comes through the skin with her perspiration. She has to wear this for the next 5 weeks till her next court appearance on the 22nd October 2010.

This is not the first time she has been ordered to wear the SCRAM ankle bracelet, and the last time one was placed on her, it went off whilst she was attending an after show party for the MTV Movie Awards. In her defence to the Court Judge, Lohan claimed that someone had spilled an alcoholic beverage on her, and that she was not drinking or taking drugs.

The last time Lohan was in front of Judge Fox, he told her that should she fail the bracelet test and be found to be participating in recreational drugs, or anything harder, he would send her down for breach of her bail terms. Obviously this ‘promise’ was just for show, much like her first spell in the County Jail where she was sentenced for a total of 90 days, and she only stayed out a minimum of 13 days.

As like many celebrities, this type of ‘drug’ testing seems slightly poor and would only work if the person wanted to give up that style of life. It has been reported that Lohan has spoken to friends and said that she thinks she needs a rehab programme, not a prison sentence.

How bizarre a statement, because it was only a few short weeks ago when she was spotted leaving rehab!!
