Mumbai Style Terror Attacks Could Happen Warns MI5

MI5 Warnings Over Potential Terrorist Attacks

MI5 Issues Straight Talking Warning – Mumbai Style Attacks Could Well Happen.

British MI5 Official’s have issued a stiff warning today saying that Europe and the US are in fear of ‘commando style’ terrorist attacks in the very near future, and that we should all be aware of what is around us.

The only problem I have with that, as a statement is: “are they just saying it to warn off the terrorists by saying we are ready – or are we just spitting out any old statement way to early, placing the frighteners on every man and his dog?”

Although the earlier is probably slightly bordering the ridiculous, doesn’t it make you think that sometimes we could be pulling the hair up on their neck’s, and making a rod for our own back?

Either way, we have to take statements from MI5 seriously, because only yesterday, President Obama took time out to launch a press conference with the US Senate to advise American citizens of the potential issue if they decided to tour most parts of Europe.

Even though Europe is a big place, targets have been identified by MI5 – and a mainline London train station is one of our top concerns. In France, the Eiffel Towel has been pinpointed as well as the Notre Dam Cathedral. Looking further east, Berlin has been identified as a potential issue with their Central Station and the Alexanderplatz TV tower.

And whilst we have to rely on the information through media and TV, it comes as no surprise when we also get bowled over with statements from Ex-SAS commanders that our security services are completely unprepared for such attacks.

This certainly looks like a very difficult time for secret intelligence services world wide, I just hope that the government don’t make any knee jurk reactions with the economy as it is, and remove some of our armed forces as they return from duty in foreign lands, just when we need them most.

Builder Calls for Banks Building Walls Against Small Businesses to Stop

Posted by on Monday, 27 September, 2010

Cameron Hope at Barclay's BankBanks will always build a wall when it comes to borrowing money, because they have to be the one in control, especially when it comes to lending.

Well, this was taken to heart by builder, Cameron Hope.

The story is that Cameron Hope, who had previously tried to get a loan to help his business and develop some of the areas he was falling behind in, got refused the help so decided to get his own back on the banking industry.

Whilst the banks were closed on Sunday, Hope and a few of his helpers decided to build a brick wall for the bank to get over, in protest of the lack of help for small businesses.

Mr Hope, a 59 year old property developer from Bournemouth, went to his local branch of Barclay’s Bank in Westbourne, and laid a foundation for what might strike a chord with many other small businesses up and down the country.

Whilst in the process of building the 8ft x 4ft wall, Mr Hope was joined by other local business owners who had also experienced problems with the banking industry, covering the wall with placards saying things like ‘Robbed by the banks we own’ and how banks are just not lending enough.

This protest is basically saying to the Government that the “small business owners” have had enough, and that the banks are to blame for the slow economic recovery due to lending less and less to small businesses in general.

When asked, Mr Hope explained that selecting the Barclay’s branch was a random selection, and the protest was not directly against them, but the banking industry on a whole.

What is ironic is the name of the builder, Cameron Hope!

Who would have thought that these two words could have been placed together as a name, let alone a statement.

Millions Paid To Migrants Detained In The UK

Posted by on Sunday, 26 September, 2010

UK Border and Immigration AgencyJust as the dust had settled following the elections, news breaks that migrants are claiming millions for unfair treatment.

We all know the facts and figures for how many immigrants are decending on the UK day in, day out – but what about the claims that are being made by some of these ‘sanctuary’ seeking EU and non-EU visitors.

The Government have released details that in the UK, millions of pounds is being paid out to migrants who have been detained in the system claiming that they have been ‘traumatised’ after being locked up in detention centres.

Whilst the Home Office claim that they do not keep records of these special payments in proportion, they still say that over the last few years that the figure is spreading into the millions.

Passport Control for UK ImmigrationDuring the period for 2009 / 10 – the records show that ‘special payments’ has climbed up to a staggering £12 million pounds, and a further £3 million accounted for the previous year.

And the reason according to legal experts is because there is an “epidemic of mistreatment” within the asylum system.

What seems to be slightly concerning is that in one case this summer, a Ugandan who claimed he had been ‘tortured’ was awarded £110,000 after the court ruled he had been unlawfully detained in the UK for 10 months.

In a completely seperate case, a west African woman was detained at Yarl’s Wood detention centre in Bedforshire and awarded a £57,000 payout for being locked up for one month. The judge in this case claimed that there was a ‘grave failing’ by the Home Office and that the figure awarded was by far less than what the person had suffered, and said that he was bound by law to offer this maximum payment even though he thought it was worth more.

So, by coming to the United Kingdom, with probably no papers, identification or belongings – a migrant expects to just walk in the door, sign a form to say that he or she would like to take residence here without being given time to be processed?

Having personally seen the conditions of some of the UK Border Detention Centres, I can not understand how someone can come into the UK and claim asylum due to the problems in their own country, and then serve legal proceedings against the Border Agency for being kept for a period of time so that documentation can be found of who, where and why they have arrived in the country.

Tropical Storm Matthew Aims For America

Posted by on Saturday, 25 September, 2010

Tropical Storm Matthew – The latest news on Tropical Matthew is that as we write, the evacuation process in Nicaragua has begun and in excess of 10,000 people are trying to flee from it’s path.

In the Caribbean, it has already drenched the coastal lines with more rain falling in one day than they normally see in a month.

One of the biggest concerns is now Central America. The American National Hurricane Centre, which is based in Miami, have announced that they may be expecting anything between 8 to 10 inches of rain fall over Honduras and Nicaragua, with chances of major flash flooding and potential mud slides.

Something which has taken some parts of Nicaragua by surprise, as they are already dealing with flooding from earlier rain fall.

With reported wind speeds of over 50mph, the storm was heading inland via Honduras, going North West towards Guatamala.

And whilst all this is happening, a short way out into the Atlantic sees the next storm created by Hurricane Lisa, who is the seventh storm of the early season making it’s way North holding wind speeds of around 75mph.

This is only the beginning of the season, so let’s keep everything crossed that this is not a sign of things to come – as most American residents in the South East will echo, they could do without anything else hitting the coast line after what has happened already this year.

Does David Cameron’s Baby Live In A Box?

Posted by on Friday, 24 September, 2010

David and Samantha Cameron's Baby - FlorenceDuring the last few days, David Cameron has comfirmed that this is still the case, and their new born baby, Florence, is living in a cardboard box.

As strange as it sounds, this was due to the fact that when they were on holiday in Cornwall, the baby arrived. They were not expectiing this to happen whilst they were on holiday, which caught them short as far as having anything with them ready for the arrival of baby Florence.

As soon as Samantha, the prime ministers wife, went into labour, their six year old daughter Nancy, decorated a cardboard box ready for the arrival of her bew brother or sister.

Mr Cameron released a statement to The Daily Telegraph saying that Florence was ‘still using the box, even when they got back to Downing Street.’

‘At least when she grows up, she will be able to say that she was brought up in a cardboard box in Downing Street.’

All of this came at a difficult time for Mr Cameron, due to the loss of his father, Ian.

But Mr Cameron said that he managed to at least give him a tour of Downing Street prior to him passing, even getting him up the stairs. “He wanted to as well, there’s a rope that goes up the stairs, it was bit like going up the North face of the Eiger, he pulled and we pushed and finally we got there, so my last memories of him are very happy.”

First Woman Executed by Lethal Injection in 100 Years

Posted by on Friday, 24 September, 2010

Taresa Lewis Executed by Lethal InjectonTeresa Lewis was executed today by lethal injection, and was pronounced dead at 9:13 p.m (U.S cet)

Lewis, who was jailed and placed on death row for plotting the murder of her husband and step son so that she could pocket the insurance money, was executed in Virginia by lethal injection earlier today.

She was convicted of the offence which she orchestrated in October 2002, where she had plotted to kill her husband and step son by leaving a door on the house unlocked, so that her two conspirators could enter the building. The two men arrived at around 3:15 a.m., opened fire, then fled the scene.

Even though the shooting took place at around 3:15am, it took Lewis over half an hour to call the emergency services. Her step son had died pretty much straight after the event, yet her husband who was in the same bed as her, was still alive when medical teams and police arrived.

Lewis first directed Police on a story of an unknown intruder who had entered the building dressed in black and had opened fire when confronted by her husband. Following a series of interviews, Lewis cracked and gave police details of the people involved, one of which was her lover, Matthew Shallenberger.

Following the confession, Lewis took police to Shallenberger and the second gunman, then finally admitted her part in this event in court not long after.

Most people were still in shock that Lewis had attracted over 5,500 people to sign an electronic petition for her life to be spared.

Lewis is the 12th woman to be executed in the USA since the reinstatement of Capital Punishment back in 1976.

Denver Bronocos Acquire Laurence Maroney from New England Patriots

Posted by on Wednesday, 15 September, 2010

Denver BroncosNFL News

It was revealed oday that Denver Bronocs has acquire the Patriots Running Back, Laurence Maroney for an undisclosed sum.

Maroney was once a first round pick for New England back in 2006, and he rushed for 757 yards and nine touch downs last season.

During the last four season with the New England Patriots, Maroney who was the product of Minnesota, managed to gain over 2430 years with 21 rushing touch downs on 582 carries.

As well as this, he also added 40 receptions for 409 yards and only one score in a total of 45 career games.

What is painfully obvious is that Maroney is joining an injury plagued back field which includes Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter, who both missed the preseason matches with hamstring injuries.

Anothr one of the players who is on the bench for now is running back, LenDale White. after suffering a ruptured achilles during a preseason game.

A spokes person forDenver Broncos said that;  “even though we have lost a few players due to injury and transfers, we still have a lot of strength in the side and this acquisition will work extremely well.
