Pontiac Closure

- Pontiac Closes Doors For Ever.

Pontiac has toady seen a bitter end to it’s eight decade of manufacturing in the USA, with the announcement of closure obly one year after GM released a restructure for their business.

What had become an iconic soundtrack of a V8 engine with style and thunder for your average American sports sedan, the affordable car has become no more. This comes as a sad blow for the American car giant, just as they had managed to design something which looked like it could have been exported for the european market.

The Pontiac car originally came out of Pontiac, Michigan – and became one of the ocuntries most loved sports vehicles, taking part in most motorsport past times across the country, as well as Drag Racing and powering some of the top muscle cars.

Earlier this year, parent company General Motors released information that they had restructured their business, which meant that Pontiac was going to have to go it alone, or not at all. And with the drop in sales within the big engine market, Pontiac was in a difficult position before they even had chance to get the wheels rolling.

So, for your average American who wanted to own a $1million muscle car at the fraction of the cost, this was the only alternative in the affordable range of big engine motors, up until today.
